"Hi, I'm currently a sophomore at UTSA, and I am working on Shadow the Life. Inspiration for Shadow the Life came during my sister's sophomore year in college, when she told me that she did not know if she wanted to continue to pursue a career in medicine. I suggested job shadowing a variety of careers and pursuing the one that she liked most. First, she wanted to job shadow a dentist, so she began by emailing dentistries near us. As you can imagine, it was time-consuming. During the first few days of emailing multiple dentistries, nobody responded. Eventually, though, one dentistry finally responded and was open to offering job shadowing. I knew that there had to be an easier and faster way of finding job shadowing opportunities. That's when I came up with Shadow the Life: a job shadow marketplace for easy and instant access to job shadowing opportunities.

My mission is to help students find the career that they want to pursue. Through Shadow the Life, I hope to simplify career exploration for students and allow them to make a more informed decision on their career.
Shadow the Life offers easy and instant job shadowing opportunities in a variety of careers. Simply by searching and filtering, students will be given access to job shadowing opportunities that they are interested in. Once they have found a job shadowing opportunity that they are interested in, they could select a day and time frame and request it. They could then monitor the status of their request on their schedule page.
